Upcoming Events

This semester, events are Tuesdays from 6-8pm in 235 Dwinelle.

Welcome!

Cal’s Philosophy Forum fosters a lively and active community in Berkeley brought together by an interest in philosophy, while encouraging a campus-wide interest in philosophical inquiry. At our weekly meetings, students present their philosophical work and discuss these issues in an open, responsive environment.

To promote academic excellence, we organize workshops on editing philosophical writing, as well as applying to graduate school and law school. We also invite professors and graduate students from different disciplines to give lecturers throughout the semester, exposing students to current issues in philosophy and affiliated fields. These activities exemplify the basic mission of the Forum: encourage community, philosophical enquiry, and academic excellence.

Additionally, the Forum is now responsible for the Harvest Moon Undergraduate Journal, the only journal on campus to be recognized by the Philosophy Department. Harvest Moon publishes the philosophical works of some of Berkeley’s brightest undergraduates, and is run entirely by undergraduates as well.
